Dr Robert Kerr

Institute for Frontier Materials, Deakin University

Dr. Kerr is a researcher in the area of new electrolyte materials for high capacity lithium devices. He has been with the electromaterials group at IFM since 2015, having previously worked on high temperature-PEM fuel cell technology at Danish Power Systems in Denmark. He was a key member in the establishment and setting up of BatTRI-Hub, and now oversees many of the research and prototyping facilities performed within the facility. He is also involved in the supervision of several PhD projects on topics including the use of ionic liquids for silicon and lithium metal anodes, and analysis of the degradation and failure mechanism in Li-ion and metal-based cells.
